About the CJA
The Consumer Justice Alliance (CJA) has been formed to highlight the impact that Lord Justice Jackson’s proposals on Civil Litigation will have on injured victims. The CJA is made up of representatives from charities, victims’ groups, insurers and law firms, all of whom feel the need to act against the potentially serious implications of the Jackson’s recommendations.
The Government has now published its Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill which enacts and enables most of Jackson’s proposals. The Bill is going through Parliament and CJA is working hard to lobby MP and Peers to challenge the Government proposals and put pressure on the Government to re-consider. We work not just with Parliamentarians and the media but with other pressure groups fighting the proposals so that the Government can understand the deep impact that their proposals will have on access to justice.
